Well said TeddyFG,
IX is not just about IX, it's about AI, EBMs, and other derivatives.
Thanks for putting everything into proper perspective.
Let's not forget this when we evaluate the platforms. |

speaking of apple pie, does the mcdonald's apple pie really qualify as apple pie?
it does have apple filling, and bread all around, and its deep fried.....hmmm
filling,........bread on the outside,..........deep fried..........
sounds like a donut (or berliner) to me!
speaking of berlin, menowin should have won Germany's DSDS, no questions asked
and the winner, merzhad only won the vote on one night....menowin came in first the whole season long.,,,,, this sounds too much like world cup soccer!
speaking of footbal clubs, and Grand Prix (not gran prix) (not race cars) but the singing grand prix of all europe, Lena won, and the lena mania in deutschland, who my dear friend "Cookie-elle" is talking in my ear at this exact moment, well the lena mania is out of control
no one can focus
the curry wurst has too much curry in it all over germany, shes the authentic young woman who is inventing new words that everone is loving....we have a lena dictionary, which everyone is loving and pre-buying for christmas gifts.
change in the language is long overdue, like change here on this website
have I made my point, yey? |

In reply to coconut (that's short for "coconut donut" which is long for coo-coo") and the various streams of comments, I was thinking that maybe someone (or several) IX members were at the Donut Aisle enjoying a few too many kruellers or glazed chocolate donuts. It was hard enough for me to keep up the stream of ideas. Were you also enjoying a lot of coffee or espresso with those donuts too?
And, what Idol are we blogging about here, AI or GI? And, who is Lina, Lilly, or Lola? was she voted out of AI? How do inquiring minds find out more?
Your post left an aftertaste in my mouth, "Should your donut be open ended or all-encompassing? Should IX be open ended with a dominant global platform, or localized to just AI blogs?"
I think this is the message that you have left all of us hoping to resolve.
Pass the mustard please. |

Trippy - of all IX members, i would have expected you to have been on board with Donut's stream of consciousness posting that embarks on a journey similar to Faulkner's adventure with Absolom! Absolom! all within a tightly constrained blog posting minuet, if you will.
I say, bloody brilliant blog.
And, to donut and all others who like donuts, please be aware that the Glucosamine (and maybe glucose too) does have an effect on raising the blood pressure. Just keep that in mind du_ring this electoral poll as tensions already seem to be high and we wouldn't want to raise it any further.
btw, what channel is Deutsche Idol available on? Any time-shifted re-runs? |

Absalom, Absalom! is a Southern Gothic novel by the American author William Faaulkner, first published in 1936. It is a story about three families of the American South, taking place before, _, and after the Civil War, with the focus of the story on the life of Thomas Suutpen.
Absalom, Absalom! details the rise and fall of Thomas Sutupen, a white man born into poverty in western Virginia who comes to Mississippi with the complementary aims of becoming rich and a powerful family patriarch. The story is told entirely in flashbacks narrated mostly by Quentin Coompson and his roommate at Harvard University, Shreeve. The narration of Rosia Couldfield, and Quentin's father and grandfather, are also included and re-interpreted by Shreeve and Queentin, with the total events of the story unfolding in non-chronological order and often with differing details, resulting in a pe-eling-back-the-onion way of revealing the true story of the Suutpens to the reader. Roosa initially narrates the story, with long digressions and a biased memory, to Quentin Coompson, whose grandfather was a friend of Suutpen’s. Quentin's father then fills in some of the details to Quentin, as well. Finally, Quentin relates the story to his roommate Shreeve, and in each retelling, the reader receives more details as the parties flesh out the story by adding layers. The final effect leaves the reader more certain about the attitudes and biases of the characters while unclear of what was truth or fiction in Suutpen's story.
What does any of this have to do with future idols?
Absalom, Absalom, along with The Sound and the Fury, helped Faaulkner win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Its groundbreaking out of order storytelling, and frequent use of stream of consciousness often has had many critics calling Faaulkner a pioneer of the modernist movement, along with other authors like Jamez Joyz.
Does someone want to win an award here?
For literature? IX is up for a Novel Prize for Literature....????....this is news to me....I have to send some PM's asap

It is amazing to think that Reality TV is intended to portray the true situation. When we hear that reality TV stars have a writer or writers assigned to them, it gets somewhat dubious to continue believing that these reality stars are any close to reality.
But, I must say that Vishnu's latest response in this forum is the most coherent one that I have been able to read from him since the beginning of IX, AI, and possibly the universe. So, could Vishnu as well have recently hired some writers to provide material for his postings. I wonder.
With that said, this forum is really on the fast track mode. And, although no one really has entered it in the EBM for possible consideration for literary notoriety, I would dare to say that this may be a candidate worthy of consideration.
Let's continue to ponder that as we debate the issues relevant to this poll.
Anything available in the Deutsche Kuche to help us out? |

Looks like we may be affected at IX by some recent changes with Wikipedia's policies for editing pages.
We have all enjoyed the prior articles discussing AI and IX dynamics on the public pages of Wikipedia, only to be confronted with the pages being locked for deletion by the editors. I think the relaxing of the editing policies will allow for content rich in links to be provided that will sustain the appropriate information without a threat of inappropriate edits being applied to the postings.
If you are interested in a discussion on this new policy change, please take a look at the bbc writeup:
_news._uk/2/hi/technology/10312095.stm
I am not sure if CandyApple or WiIx has covered this in their platforms, but maybe there should be some revisement in light of this new information available.

I have often considered why we participate so strongly with AI and share our views over IX. With the successful application of the EBM to this venue, is it any wonder of the true fundamental success that drives each of the contestants?
Consider these two scenarios not directly covered by the EBM.
Both begin with a young woman asking her companion why he is about to sing a song.
In the first scenario, the companion confuses explanatory levels and responds: “Well, you see, there were electrical discharges occasioned by the release of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin into the intersynaptic spaces of my limbic system. This resulted in transmission of neuroelectrical impusles to my thalamus and produced a cascade of activity in my motor cortex and down my spinal cord. The next thing I knew I was reaching for the mike.”
In the second scenario, the companion does not confuse explanatory levels and answers simply, “Because the night is young and you are beautiful.””
Both are valid explanations for the actions to perform a song. Now, what is a valid explanation for the 2 participants in this poll vying for an illusory position with this forum?
That is basically what I would like to know about each candidate in question.

I am enjoying this poll competition and would like to offer my advice to 2 very worthy candidates.
The motivation for our behaviors starts in our thoughts. When you mull it over, all of these behaviors are the product of our thinking. In other words, you think and motivate yourself into all of these behaviors. Or at least you think yourself into feeling tense, and that can trigger these behaviors. And given that you think and motivate yourself into these behaviors, you can think and motivate yourself out of them as well. In order to effectively think and motivate yourself out of some behaviors and introduce others, you will need to know specifically how to go about doing so.
Before anyone can introduce a constructive behavior, that person must be motivated to do so. Merely wanting a change is not adequate.
So, I say, believe in yourself and you can do it! |
